Lower emissions

No more idling! Our patent-pending energy-storage system gives VoltaGrid microgrids a distinct advantage: we can operate our generators at their peak efficiency — and lowest emissions — load point.

On top of that, we’ve designed two technologies to further reduce our equipment’s emissions:

• Our proprietary gas conditioning system lowers the carbon intensity of the fuel — be it CHG, LNG, field gas, residue gas, or renewable natural gas (RNG) — to the generator’s optimal heating value and enables us to inject hydrogen gas.
• Our proprietary SCR reduces criterion pollutant emissions by an additional 85% to 97% versus the manufacturer’s specifications, making it on par with grid-supplied power in most of the United States

With CO₂-equivalent emissions designed to average near 1,000 lbs/MWh and NOx emissions as low as 0.155 lb/MWh, that’s 28% less CO₂e than dual-fuel generators and 40% lower CO₂e than a large (25+ MW) combustion turbine (based on a 20-MW load running 24 hours).

On top of that, VoltaGrid offers economical decarbonization today with VoltaGrid NetZero credits — a cost-effective way to offset the CO₂e emissions our units produce.

The heart of VoltaGrid’s 2.5-MWe genset is the fast-responding CAT 3520 natural gas generator — a proven genset trusted by the likes of AT&T and Facebook for their critical data centers because of its black-start capability, its operational reliability, and its ability to go from stopped to rated load in just 32.5 seconds.

Additionally, VoltaGrid’s robust, redundant microgrid design ensures no single point of failure:
